It is so HOT where I am-104 degrees...whew! Good day to stay inside and write! The kids , however want to be outside-I don't think that heat really affects them...anyway, I tried to screw the hose back into the spigot to fill up the little pool. Hmmm, for some reason it won't screw in. Maybe it's a blonde thing! (I can say that because I am indeed blonde.) So, luckily they decided to ride their bikes. Of course lately riding bikes means building a jump. We are not just talking a little jump...no this thing is about 3 feet high made out of plywood and 2x4s. This may seem like no big deal to most, but the kids in question are 6 and 4 (my 3 year old just watches thank goodness!). So I watch with bated breath...please don't bust your face or break something...they are wearing helmets, but still...
My husband tells me to quit clucking...he and our neighbor were the ones to suggest the jump in the first place. Well, knock on wood-no accidents...yet. I guess I just have to let them be boys...I just kiss the boo-boos.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi to everyone...more to come later.
A Little More About Me.......
I get the same question all the time...What exactly do you do???? I'll try to explain the best I can. The truth is I'm not really sure! Sound strange? yeah to me too :). So, I take this course on writing web promotions...simple enough. I love to write and I stay home with my kids so if this can help supplement my income (since my husband is currently laid off) then what do I have to lose? Right? Well, there is the cost of the course....
Anyway, I sign up with companies and write a blog about them, put an adsense ad on it and publish it with the major search engines. Sounds simple enough right? Sure-I mean anyone can do it. Then, I network among google groups and voila! Earn a fortune right? Nope, not yet-I am a very optimistic person. I know that one day I will wake up and boom-I'm gonna get paid! WooHoo!
You may wonder how do I get paid? Well, it varies with each company. Sometimes someone has to actually purchase something through the link on my blog. Other times someone has to sign up for something-usually it is free for people to sign up so I do wonder why people don't. I'd like to think it's not personal...I did shower this morning...
You may wonder why I have so many blogs...it is the brainchild of the course I took...instead of just doing one blog on wine, do a bunch listing different cities and states. Ok. I see the logic, it's a numbers game to an extent, so I did. I do get more clicks that way, but like I said....no money YET.
Please forgive all the duplicate blogs in my profile-I promise I'm working on thinning it out-now instead of doing 8 million blogs(yes, I'm exaggerating) for one company and doing it for every city, state or town, I'll just do several blogs for each company and list the cities, states and towns in the keywords. Hello? I feel like a lightbulb just went off in my head! So anyway please bear with me while I thin out the herd...
Of course I am trying to get friends and family to understand a bit more about what I do, but I'm beginning to think it is a futile effort. My mom still doesn't understand...here's the conversation:
Mom:"So how's the blogging coming?"
Me: Fine. I'm going to e-mail you some of my sites. Let me know what you think. Let your friends and co-workers etc. know what I'm doing please.
Mom:"Ok, I will."
Me: Thanks Mom!
Mom:"Some of those are really good sweetie! BUT, I accidentally clicked on one of those ads by google..."
Me: Somehow, mom, i don't think that the 30 CENTS your click earned me is going to make the adsense guys stand up and say Houston, we have a problem...(I could be wrong so my apologies in advance adsense guys).
Do you see where this is going? I think she is starting to understand a bit better...

A Little Bit About Me...
So here I sit day in and day out blogging my proverbial you know what off! It all started when i signed up to do web promotions and reviews for different companies. I have tons of blogs and i am constantly updating them to make them better (hopefully)! Anyway-I have lots of different topics-wine, music, insurance, electronics, college savings, unique gifts...and I'm sure that in the coming months I will be adding more.
I try to affiliate myself with companies that are reputable. I try to research them to the fullest extent before writing about them. I have turned down offers from companies that I can't find one good thing about! I am the type of person that will tell everyone about a horrible experience as well as a positive one. However, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Really, that's a good thing-if we all agreed then we wouldn't have anything to talk about!
At the same time, while I do tell people about both positive and negative personal experiences, I will only write positive things about these companies. After all, I am trying to promote them!

*******Ok...here goes-for all of you wondering ...a lot of the blogs I have are duplicates-that is because some of the companies i write reviews for have suggested doing that to get more exposure...hmmm...maybe it will work...that makes it relatively easy to manage the blogs-I am in the process of trying to consolidate, but first i have to figure out which ones are getting viewed...as always, thank you for reading...let me know what you think!
